Crash Near Highway 65 Kills Two Children
Bakersfield, CA (May 11, 2022) – On Tuesday, Gary Knox Dozier, 69, of Wasco, was involved in a traffic collision on James Road killing two children.
The fatal collision took place at about 3:43 p.m. between Highway 65 and Airport Road.
A 14-year-old was driving a westbound white two-door Nissan sedan with 9, 10, and 11-year-old passengers.
As the Nissan approached the bulldozer stopped on the side of James Road, the bulldozer started to move across James Road into the path of the Nissan.
The Nissan driver attempted to avoid the bulldozer driven by Dozier by veering left but its right side collided with the bucket of the bulldozer.
Sad to say, the 10-year-old front right passenger and the 11-year-old right rear passenger, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Officers have not yet released the name of the two deceased.
On the other hand, the paramedics rushed the driver and the 9-year-old left rear passenger to Kern Medical.
Moreover, Dozier, 69, remained on the scene and did not suffer injuries from the accident.
Officers are still investigating what caused the accident. They do not suspect alcohol or drugs as factors in the collision.
