Afternoon 4-Vehicle Wreck on 22 Freeway in Garden Grove Sends One to Hospital

 
GARDEN GROVE, CA (January 19, 2019) – One person was hospitalized following a four-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Garden Grove.
 
The crash happened around 12:41 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of 22 Freeway at Haster Street off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a green sedan, a gray Toyota Echo, a silver Honda Civic and a gray Jeep Cherokee were involved for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they located one occupant who was hurt from the crash. That person was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center for proper treatment. The extent of injuries sustained and the condition of the patient were not immediately known.
 
The Toyota Echo had major front-end damage and was towed away for evidence along with the other vehicles.
 
The eastbound lanes of 22 Freeway was closed for about 30 minutes while the rescue and clearing operations were being conducted.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the cause of the crash and more information will be provided when accessible.
