22-year-old Parolee Involved in Palm Desert Collision on Fred Waring Drive
PALM DESERT, CA (May 17, 2020) – Last Wednesday, Gabriel Ruiz was arrested after crashing into several vehicles on Fred Waring Drive.
The 22-year-old parolee was said to hit his vehicle into a Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy and two other vehicles as he attempted to escape authorities.
The Sheriff’s Department revealed that a deputy tried to administer a traffic enforcement stop on Gabriel Ruiz of Palm Desert at about 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Jefferson Street.
However, Ruiz didn’t yield and decided to drive his vehicle in reverse. Has a result, he hit the deputy’s motorcycle and two other vehicles while escaping the scene.
The officers from the Sheriff’s Department revealed that the crash didn’t result in any injury.
Meanwhile, the police located Ruiz’s vehicle at the 73300 block of San Nicholas in Palm Desert. It was around 8:30 p.m. when the police arrested Gabriel Ruiz and booked him into Indio jail on charges of parole violation.
