Man Riding His Bicycle Fatally Struck by Several Vehicles on 80 Freeway at Richmond Parkway

 
PINOLE, CA (November 23, 2019) – A man riding a bicycle died after being struck by several vehicles in Sab Pablo, the California Highway Patrol said.
 
The fatal incident happened around 8:14 p.m. on westbound 80 Freeway at Richmond Parkway.
 
According to the CHP, the man had been riding his bicycle when a passing vehicle struck him. He came to rest in one of the freeway lanes and multiple other vehicles hit him.
 
A coroner’s official pronounced the man dead at the scene. The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Gabriel Roberts. He was a transient with no known address.
 
The first vehicle that struck Roberts reportedly took off.
 
CHP officials are looking further into the incident, including details that would help them find the first vehicle. They encouraged anyone who witnessed the crash to call 510-450-3821.
