Gabina Lagroma Fatally Struck by Bus on 11th Avenue [Delano, CA]

78-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident near Glenwood Street

 
DELANO, CA (July 7, 2019) – Authorities identified 78-year-old Gabina Lagroma as the pedestrian struck and killed by a bus, Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the Delano Police Department, the incident happened near Glenwood Street, at about 3:42 PM. The victim attempted to cross in a marked crosswalk when a charter bus hit her.
 
Emergency responders transported Lagroma to Kern Medical Center, where she died at 6:26 PM. Meanwhile, the bus driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Officers ruled out impairment as factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoing to determine if any charges will be filed against the bus driver. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
