21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Collision near Courtney Avenue
FULLERTON, CA (April 17, 2018) – On Tuesday morning around 7:00 AM, a motorcycle collision on West Orangethorpe Avenue resulted in one casualty.
According to the preliminary investigation of Fullerton Police, the collision happened in the area of West Orangethorpe and Courtney Avenues. A motorcycle, driven by an unnamed 21-year-old male driver, was traveling east on Orangethorpe, nearly approaching Courtney. At the same time, a 2018 Honda Civic was trying to turn west from Courtney onto Orangethorpe.
Both drivers struck each other in the eastbound lanes of Orangethorpe, and the impact ejected the rider from his motorcycle. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his imjuries and was pronounced dead around 8:07 AM.
The Civic’s 21-year-old driver was reportedly unharmed from the collision. She stayed at the scene of the accident and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be contributing factors in the crash.
