Road Closure and Oil Spill Caused by Vantage Car Crash
VANTAGE, WA (October 28, 2019) – A semi-truck crash on 90 Freeway caused road closures and spilled fuel in the lanes on October 24.
The WSP came to the scene at 3:35 p.m. The incident shut down 90 Freeway in both directions at the Vantage Bridge. According to reports, the semi hauling apples overturned and landed on its side, crashed into a jersey barrier and spilled fuel on the road.
Trooper John Bryant revealed that the driver got trapped inside the wreckage. He did not suffer any injury. In addition, the semi-truck is the only vehicle involved in the collision. However, authorities are still investigating the collision.
Authorities shut down the freeway during the investigation. In addition, the Department of Ecology is currently cleaning up the fuel spill. Trooper Bryant revealed that the fuel spill is the biggest issue since the crash scene is close to the Columbia River.
A tow truck responded to the scene and the damaged jersey barrier requires repair.
The roads have since reopened.
