Highway 17 Crash Kills Froylan Valdivia of Warden
Moses Lake, WA (March 26, 2021) – On Friday, 57-year-old Froylan Valdivia of Warden died in a tragic multi-vehicle crash on Highway 17.
The deadly accident happened at about 4:45 a.m. wherein a semi-truck and two pickups were involved.
Valdivia was driving north preparing to turn left when his Chevy Silverado pickup was rear-ended by a Peterbilt tractor driven by 30-year-old Abel Juarez Avila of Connell.
Afterward, Valdivia’s vehicle was pushed into the southbound lane where it was also struck by a Ford F-350 pickup driven by 26-year-old Arturo Fernandez of Ephrata.
Moreover, officers said Valdivia was driving his vehicle with only its running lights on and no tail lights.
Rescuers rushed Avila and Fernandez to the hospital in Othello with injuries not believed to be serious.
Meanwhile, authorities closed Highway 17 at Road 5 Southeast for more than six hours as they investigated.
