Frightening Solo-Car Crash on US 2 Kills Jason Wagner [Index, WA]

Index, WA (October 18, 2023) On Tuesday evening, 38-year-old Jason Wagner died in a solo-car crash on US 2 that injured 2 of his passengers.

According to the WSP, the fatal accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 2 near milepost 36.

Reports say that Wagner was driving a westbound 2002 Chevy Trailblazer that veered off the right shoulder of the highway and crashed onto a tree.

Officials say that Wagner died at the scene, while 2 passengers of the Chevy were trapped inside the vehicle due to the collision. Rescuers extricated a 31-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman from Everett, both injured passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are investigating the fatal single-vehicle accident.
