Pedestrian Hospitalized in Critical Condition after Crash near Belmont Avenue
FRESNO, CA (April 15, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a hit-and-run car on North Willow Avenue and East Grant Avenue in southeast Fresno, late Sunday night.
According to CHP reports, a woman was walking on Willow, just south of Belmont Avenue, when she was hit by a car. The vehicle did not stop and fled north on Willow, leaving the injured woman in the road.
She sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation, stated CHP Spokeswoman, Shasta Tollefson.
Police officials continue to search for the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved in this tragic collision. The suspect car is believed to be a mid-90’s Mercedes Benz E Class, with a shattered windshield and broken headlight.
