Michael Dewer, Christian Martinez, and Matthew Rivera Collision in Four-Vehicle Accident
FRESNO, CA (March 4, 2018) – The driver of a 2004 Ford died following a four-vehicle crash on Highway 168 to westbound Highway 180 on Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at around 2:00 AM when a 35-year-old man, lost control of his vehicle, veered to the left and collided with a concrete wall.
Michael Dewer, 47, of Porterville, who was driving a 2015 Ford on 168 in the same direction, attempted to avoid the 2004 Ford by steering to the left, but the right front-end of his car hit the left rear of the first car. 28-year-old Christian Martinez was driving a 2010 Honda behind the first two vehicles at the time and crashed into the 2004 Ford. It was then that 31-year-old Matthew Rivera of Fresno in a 2011 Honda struck Martinez’s car.
The driver of the 2004 Ford was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to the injuries several hours later. The identity of the man was not released, pending notification of his family. It was not immediately confirmed if the other drivers involved were hurt in the crash.
