Fernando Pantoja Jr Arrested for DUI Accident that Resulted in One Dead
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 14, 2018) – A mother of three was killed in a two-vehicle collision, late Saturday evening. The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Adelanto resident, Frennetta Sartor Miller, also known as “Netta”.
According to officials, the collision happened around 11:19 PM at the US Highway 395 and Seneca Road intersection. Miller was traveling northbound in a blue Nisaan on the 395 Highway, while a silver Honda, driven by 26-year-old Victorville resident Fernando Pantoja Jr, was heading east on Seneca Road.
Pantoja did not stop at the stop sign located at the intersection, causing his vehicle to broadside Miller’s Nissan. Both vehicles came to rest in the dirt field, just east of the intersection.
Authorities had to extricate Pantoja from his vehicle. He sustained major injuries and was flown to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. A 3-year-old passenger in the Honda was reportedly unharmed.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victorville Station arrested Pantoja on the suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and cruelty to a child. He was later booked into the West Valley Detention Center. A stated in criminal records, he is currently being held on $250,000 bail and his arraignment was held on April 17th in a Victorville courtroom.
Highway 395 was shut down in the area north of Crossroads Way and south of Mojave Drive, for several hours. Seneca Road, specifically the east of Jonathan Street and west of US 395, was also closed for hours for the processing of evidence and looking for witnesses.
