Fredy Medina Meza Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Laurel Drive [Salinas, CA]

Salinas, CA (October 6, 2023) On Wednesday evening, police arrested 31-year-old Fredy Medina Meza in a DUI hit-and-run crash on Laurel Drive that killed a 43-year-old Salinas man.

According to the Salinas Police Department, the fatal DUI crash happened around 9:16 p.m. between Williams Road and Laurel Drive.

Reports say that a southbound a black Cadillac, driven by Meza, fatally struck the Salinas resident attempting to cross the street.

First responders rushed the injured man to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.

Authorities later found Meza at his home near Closter Park. He was found to be over 4X the legal limit. Police arrested Fredy Medina Meza and booked into Monterey County Jail on a $1 million bond.
