Frederick Juan Barnell Dies After Tragic Crash on West 22nd Street in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (November 5, 2024) – A 43-year-old man, Frederick Juan Barnell, has died after being struck by a vehicle on Tucson’s south side on October 26.
Tucson Police reported that Barnell was crossing West 22nd Street, just east of Interstate 10, around 6:30 p.m. when an eastbound white Hyundai Sonata hit him.
The 74-year-old driver of the Sonata stopped immediately and cooperated fully with the police investigation, which found no signs of impairment in the driver.
Barnell was transported to Banner University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries on November 5.
The investigation remains ongoing.
