59-Year-Old Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Blackstone Avenue

Fresno, CA (August 27, 2023) – On Saturday, 59-year-old Fred Black Jr. was killed in a Herndon Avenue accident.

The Fresno accident took place before 11 p.m. in the area of Blackstone Avenue.

Investigators stated that the victim was trying to cross the middle of Blackstone Avenue in a wheelchair. However, he was struck by a car. He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center where he died.

The car driver is cooperating with the officers’ investigation.

According to the authorities, Black Jr. was part of the unhoused community.
