Frans Alst of Netherlands Killed in Scooter Accident on Market Street [San Francisco, CA]

San Francisco, CA (July 24, 2023) – On July 14, Frans Alst, a 55-year-old man from the Netherlands died following a scooter accident six on Market Street.

Investigating officers said Alst worked for KLM Airlines and was in San Francisco for work with colleagues.

Alst was on foot when he was hit by an individual riding a scooter in the area of 5th Street before 11 a.m. on July 8.

First responders arrived at the scene and transported Alst to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers said Alst sustained a serious head injury. 

The scooter rider remained at the accident scene. SFPD officers said an arrest has not been made. 

Officers are investigating.
