Fatality Reported in Mile Marker 270 Pedestrian Crash
Midland County, TX (August 5, 2024) – Franklin Azuaje, 24, of Midland, was killed in a Highway 191 accident Saturday morning.
It was about 2:44 a.m. when the fatal crash happened at mile marker 270.
Texas DPS officers said Devon Gibson, 28, of Odessa was westbound on the freeway in the inside lane when Azuaje ran into the traffic lanes in front of Gibson.
Gibson attempted to avoid Azuaje and took evasive action, but ended up hitting the pedestrian.
The rescuers rushed Azuaje to Midland Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Gibson did not sustain injuries in the traffic accident.
Texas DPS is investigating the collision.
