1 Person Dead in Hamilton County Traffic Accident on State Highway 36 near Jonesboro

HAMILTON COUNTY, TX (October 12, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, Frankie Torres died in a horrific head-on crash on State Highway 36 near Jonesboro.

The accident happened on State Highway 36, between Jonesboro and Hamilton.

According to Sgt. Bryan Washko, a westbound 2020 Chevrolet Malibu lost control for still unknown reasons. Then, the vehicle veered off the road, overcorrected, and crossed into the eastbound lanes where it collided head-on with a 2022 Ford F-350 pickup towing a trailer with three horses inside.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 51-year-old Chevrolet’s driver of Manor, Texas, dead at the scene. Also, paramedics transported the truck’s driver to a hospital with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Texas Department of Public Safety continued to investigate the deadly Texas crash.
