Man Killed, Woman Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash at Crows Landing Road and Morris Road
CROWS LANDING, CA (February 11, 2019) – A female passenger was seriously injured following a deadly rollover crash on Monday morning in Crows Landing.
The incident was reported at 6:46 a.m. near the area of Crows Landing Road and Morris Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2002 GMC was traveling westbound at an unknown speed, when it lost control while navigating a right curve. It then went off the southbound edge of Crows Landing Road and onto the dirt shoulder, where it overturned. The vehicle struck an almond tree, then landed back on its wheels.
The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Antelope man, was partially ejected and was found straddling the front passenger seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
His female passenger, a 25-year-old Frankie Farwell of Orangevale, was thrown from the vehicle and found lying on the south dirt shoulder of Crows Landing Road. She was airlifted by PHI Air Medical to a local trauma center.
Neither occupant was wearing a safety restraint.
Authorities believe that alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Our deepest condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased. We wish Frankie Farwell a swift and steady recovery.
