19-Year-Old Teen Dies after Crashing Car at the Cajon Pass
CAJON PASS, CA (December 6, 2019) – A teen was killed in a car accident Friday evening at the Cajon Pass, authorities said.
The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on 15 Freeway at Highway 138 near the 76 Gas Station.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray 2008 Honda Civic was heading southbound and went through the Cajon Pass, when it lost control and crashed.
Responding firefighters located the Honda facing the wrong way in the center divider with major damage. The driver and sole occupant of the car sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Saturday as Francisco Aguila IV, 19, of Hesperia.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
