34-Year-Old Glendale Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Big Rig near 405 Freeway
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 8, 2018) – A man was killed Thursday morning following a bicycle accident near 405 Freeway. The deceased victim was later identified as 34-year-old Francisco Carranza, a resident of Glendale.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the bicyclist was struck by a big rig at about 9:40 AM in the 11200 block of West Santa Monica Boulevard. Events that led to the collision were not immediately released to the public.
Carranza suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. It is unknown whether or not the unidentified driver of the big rig remained on site and cooperated with investigators.
