21-Year-Old North Hills Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident near Topanga Canyon Boulevard
MALIBU, CA (May 25, 2018) – A pedestrian was fatally struck on Pacific Coast Highway, early Friday morning. He was identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office as 21-year-old Francisco Antonio Mundo Hernandez of North Hills.
According to California Highway Patrol, the victim was struck by a 2009 Toyota Prius at the 18200 block of Pacific Coast Highway near Topanga Canyon Boulevard shortly before 5:00 AM. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 62-year-old Calabasas woman driving the Toyota remained at the scene of the collision and was seen talking to California Highway Patrol officers. Her identity has not yet been released to the public.
Eastbound Pacific Coast Highway and southbound traffic on Topanga Canyon Boulevard experienced heavy traffic while the investigation was ongoing at the scene and even after all lanes were reopened. No additional information was released to the public at this time.
