2 Dead in Belfair Car Accident
BELFAIR, WA (January 7, 2020) – Two people died in a car accident on Belfair Tahuya Road on January 4.
According to WSP, a 51-year-old Belfair man driving a Ford 350 drove across the center line on Belfair Tahuya Road a few miles past Belfair State Park just before 5:00 p.m. He then hit a truck driving in the oncoming lane. Meanwhile, the second truck, a Ford Ranger, carried four individuals and a 17-year-old male driver from Belfair.
The head-on crash killed two passengers from the Ford Ranger, 43-year-old Francisca Tercero-Zacarias and 15-year-old Vincente Tercero-Zacarias. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old female passenger and the driver were both taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Moreover, the Ford 350’s driver didn’t suffer any injury. He is facing charges on vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
The WSP also confirmed that Vincente Tercero-Zacarias and the 20-year-old passenger didn’t wear seat belts at the time of the crash. Both truck drivers and other passengers have seat belts on.
