Four Suffered Fatal Injuries after Seattle Crane Incident
SEATTLE, CA (April 29, 2019) – At least four people died and four others sustained injuries when a crane fell and crushed six vehicles in Seattle.
The accident took place at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Mercer Street just before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.
According to a local news report, two of the people killed were crane operators and two others were in vehicles struck by the crane.
A 27-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman and her 4-month-old female infant sustained injuries in the incident. Paramedics brought them to a local hospital for treatment. A fourth person received treatments at the scene.
The names of the four people killed were not immediately released. The fire department reported that the dead were three males and one female.
Investigators had not yet found out what caused the crane to collapse. Vulcan Inc., the developer of the property, said that their general contractor and its sub-contractors are fully cooperating with the investigation of the incident.
