4 Hospitalized after Accident Involving Patrol Car near Heil Avenue

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (December 10, 2018) – On Monday afternoon, four people were injured in a police car collision on Algonquin Street. The accident occurred near Harbour View Elementary School at Heil Avenue.

First responders reported that the collision took place just after 2:35 PM at the intersection of Heil and Algonquin. Vehicles involved were a minivan and a police patrol car.

The minivan was driven by an unidentified female with two children inside, and the officer was the sole occupant in the patrol car. As per reports, the minivan pulled in front of the police vehicle and the officer was unable to stop in time, t-boning the van. The police cruiser sustained front-end damages, while the minivan’s left side was damaged.

Police and paramedics arrived shortly after the incident, and transported all parties to a nearby hospital. According to Officer Angela Bennett, there was no serious injuries. The current medical conditions have not yet been released to the public. Investigations continue in order to determine the cause of the incident.
