Four Injured in Highway 101 Fatal Crash [Mendocino County, WA]

Mendocino County, WA (September 14, 2021) – On Sunday, a 29-year-old Olivehurst woman, and three others suffered injuries in Highway 101 fatal crash.

The accident took place at about 11 a.m. north of the Ridgewood Scale Facility between Ukiah and Willits.

Investigating officers said a 29-year-old Covelo man was northbound in a 2000 Acura Integra when he crossed over the double yellow lines and crashed head-on with a 2009 Dodge Ram.

Apparently, both vehicles were traveling about 70 mph when they crashed at the front driver’s sides. 

The Dodge struck a guardrail and turned over, while the Acura rested on the southbound side of the highway.

Officers pulled the Covelo man from the Acura pronounced him dead at the accident scene. The authorities withheld his name until his relatives are notified

On the other hand, the driver of the Dodge, an Olivehurst woman, suffered major injuries. 

Her three passengers, ages 9, 7 and 4, also from Olivehurst, incurred minor injuries. 

Emergency responders took all of them to Adventist Health Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits.

Meanwhile, officers are still investigating the cause of the Highway 101 fatal crash.
