Four Injured in Highway 101 DUI Crash [Santa Barbara County, CA]

Driver Arrested in HWY 101 Vehicle Crash

Santa Barbara County, CA (April 13, 2024) – Four people have been injured following a Highway 101 DUI crash early Thursday morning.

It was about 1 a.m. when the collision happened on the southbound lanes of the freeway, approximately a mile and a half south of Calle Mariposa Reina.

One of the vehicles involved in the collision ended up in the center median, while the other blocked the left-hand lane. Troopers said both vehicles sustained major front-end damage.

Moreover, an adult female incurred moderate injuries, while two women and a man suffered minor injuries. Two AMR ambulances transported them to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

The authorities arrested one of the involved drivers on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.

CHP is investigating this collision.
