US 97 Crash Injures Four People

Toppenish, WA (July 25, 2021) – On Friday, people were injured in US 97 vehicle crash.

The authorities received the crash report at about 12:07 p.m. at State Route 22, wherein two vehicles were involved.

Apparently, a couple from Seeley Lake, MT was northbound on US-97 in a 2020 Dodge RAM pickup truck.

At the same time, a 39-year-old Yakima man with a passenger was stopped at the traffic light in the northbound lane of the highway.

Moreover, officers confirmed that all four of the vehicles’ occupants sustained injuries in the accident. Rescuers rushed them to Astria Toppenish Hospital to be medically evaluated and treated. There has been no update on their condition.

Both vehicles incurred reportable damage, but neither was totaled.

Officers said the Montana man was speeding for road conditions when he collided into the Yakima man’s vehicle.

The authorities said impairment from drugs and/or alcohol did not play a factor in this accident.

Since you cannot read the intention of the driver in front of you, don’t tailgate.

Always maintain some distance between your vehicle and the one ahead in order to give yourself enough response time should the vehicle ahead make a sudden turn or stop.
