Fouad Shawo and Virginia Nathan Dead After 3-vehicle Crash on Bell Road and 19th Avenue

Phoenix, AZ (September 22, 2024) – On Saturday morning, Fouad Shawo and Virginia Nathan died and one other sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash on Bell Road.

Phoenix fire officials reported that firefighters responded to the scene near Bell Road and 19th Avenue, where two vehicles had collided. 

First responders found three individuals injured in the crash.

An 85-year-old man, Fouad Shawo, and an 85-year-old woman, Virginia Nathan, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries but later passed away. 

The other driver involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital, where they are expected to recover, according to Phoenix police.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, and it remains unclear whether the other driver will face any charges.
