Merced Crash Caused by Fluid Spill from Big Rig on Highway 99
MERCED, CA (October 17, 2019) – A fluid spill from a big rig caused a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 99 Tuesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at about 10:37 a.m. north of Franklin Road. A big rig was traveling in the number 2 lane leaking an unknown fluid.
The spilled fluid then caused a crash involving three vehicles. The CHP described the incident as a non-injury property damage collision.
The officers closed the number 2 lane while the unknown fluid was being cleaned up. They also stopped the big rig further down the roadway while they conducted their investigation.
