Floydada Man Lino Garcia Dies in US 62 Collision [Motley County, TX]

Motley County, TX (June 21, 2024) – 73-year-old Lino Garcia, of Floydada, was killed following a US 62 collision early Thursday morning.

The authorities responded at 12:30 a.m. to the head-on collision five miles east of Matador.

Investigators said 80-year-old Roger Mason was driving on the wrong side of the freeway and struck an SUV in the westbound lane.

The SUV driver, Lino Garcia, of Floydada, was killed at the crash scene while his passenger, 72-yera-old Margarita Garcia, also of Floydada, was transported to UMC with incapacitating injuries.

Similarly, the rescuers rushed also Mason to UMC with incapacitating injuries.

Officers are still investigating this fatal collision.
