3 Hurt in Gaviota Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101
GAVIOTA, CA (September 27, 2019) — Three people sustained injuries in a five-vehicle crash on Highway 101 Wednesday morning.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire, they received the first report about the accident at about 7:30 a.m. Five vehicles collided about one mile south of the Gaviota rest stop.
One of the patients suffered critical injuries while the other two had minor injuries. Two more people declined medical treatment.
The crash prompted the closure of Highway 101, causing delays in traffic for a brief period.
The cause and events leading to the crash remain under investigation.
