Five Killed in Highway 160 Hit-and-Run Crash [Sacramento, CA]

Sacramento, CA (February 10, 2023) – On Thursday, five people lost their lives following a Highway 160 hit-and-run crash.

The California Highway Patrol received a report at 5:27 p.m. about a Cadillac Escalade that slammed into a tree along the freeway at the Freeport Bridge, wherein three women and two died. 

Minutes after the collision, a carjacking took place.

CHP officers with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spotted that driver and attempted to chase the vehicle in the 8600 block area.

Moreover, investigating officers said the Freeport Bridge fatal crash was possibly connected to the chase.

Officers finally arrested the driver and took the suspect to a hospital for possible injuries.

There is no information if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the Highway 160 hit-and-run crash.
