DUI Collision Reported near Power Inn Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 16, 2018) – Five people were hospitalized after a suspected DUI crash on Florin Road, early Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 5:30 PM near Power Inn Road. A red pickup truck was driving erratically and traveling around 65 to 70 mph in a 40 mph zone.
When a patrol officer attempted to pull over the truck, the driver ran a red light, T-boned a green Mustang, and flipped over onto other cars in the area.
Three people were inside the car at the time of the collision, including a 10-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl. One of them was unconscious when emergency personnel responded to the scene. Both children were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries, and the driver of the Mustang was also hospitalized after suffering serious injuries. There is no update on either person’s current medical condition.
The unidentified driver of the pickup truck was arrested on DUI charges. It is unclear if he was injured in the collision. No additional information has been released to the public, as the case is currently under investigation by officials.
