1 Hurt in Granger Car Accident
GRANGER, WA (December 11, 2019) – A firefighter sustained injuries after a car hit him on 82 Freeway on December 1.
The WSP troopers are searching for a white Nissan Versa with Oregon plates after the driver struck a firefighter and fled the scene.
Reports revealed that the westbound vehicle lost control on 82 Freeway milepost 57 and hit a firefighter on the left rear of a fire truck stopped at the scene of the crash. The vehicle stopped but then escaped. Meanwhile, responders took the Granger firefighter to Virginia Mason Memorial hospital with injuries.
Authorities described the vehicle as a 2012 to 2014 Nissan Versa with a damaged driver-side bumper. The incident happened at 6:22 a.m.
Meanwhile, the authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the State Patrol at 509-249-6700.
The initial collision involved a speeding gray Dodge Ram pickup, lost control and overturned. Responders took the 37-year-old driver to Astria Toppenish hospital. Authorities confirmed that he wore a seatbelt and the incident occurred at about 5:39 a.m.
