BARSTOW, CA (December 6, 2021) – Sunday morning, firefighter David Spink sustained injuries in a crash on Interstate 15 near Highway 58.
 
According to BFPD Fire Captain Travis Espinoza, the incident happened while a Barstow firefighter provided aid to a victim of a vehicle crash. Moreover, the crash occurred at northbound Interstate 15 between the L Street and Highway 58 exits at around 3:26 a.m.
 
Reports revealed that a vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed. Then, it struck firefighter David Spink as he responded to the initial crash. Then, the vehicle driver remained at the scene after the collision.
 
Moreover, paramedics transported the victim to Loma Linda University Medical Center via helicopter. According to reports, the victim suffered critical injuries.
