73-Year-Old Filemon Renteria Struck and Killed by Car on 2300 Block of Crenshaw Boulevard near Santa Monica Freeway
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 17, 2018) – On Saturday morning around 5:55 AM, a man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on the 2300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard near the Santa Monica Freeway.
The coroner’s office released the 73-year-old’s identity on Sunday as Don Filemon Renteria from Los Angeles. According to reports, he fell into the roadway and was struck by a car. Renteria succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene when emergency personnel arrived.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to aid the injured pedestrian, and fled from the scene, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Section. There is currently no description of the suspect of the car involved.
