2 People Hurt in Johnson Valley Traffic Accident on Highway 247 near Rattlesnake Canyon Road

JOHNSON VALLEY, CA (July 16, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a fiery vehicle crash on Highway 247 near Rattlesnake Canyon Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:29 p.m. on Highway 247 near Rattlesnake Canyon Road.

According to reports,  the crash involved a Semi-Truck that was hauling multiple propane tanks and a Honda. Then, authorities confirmed that both vehicles erupted into flames after the crash and that multiple explosions were coming from the Semi-Truck.

Paramedics at the scene pronounced the driver of the Honda, dead at the scene. Then, responders rushed two occupants of the semi-truck to a local trauma center with unknown injuries.

As a result of the crash, Highway 247 is under a hard closure in the area of the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
