1 Person Dead in Goleta Auto Accident on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road

GOLETA, CA (July 8, 2024) – Friday morning, a fiery vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:00 a.m. on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound Tacoma pickup that was traveling in the southbound lanes collided with a semi. Then, the pick-up truck erupted into flames after the collision.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the pick-up truck, dead at the scene. Then, the male driver of the semi sustained minor injuries in the crash and refused further treatment.

Furthermore, the crash closed southbound Highway 101 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
