Fiery Big Rig Crash near Highway 6 Injures Passenger [Hico, TX]

Hico, TX (September 9, 2023) On Wednesday morning, a 33-year-old male passenger was hurt after a fiery big rig crash near Highway 6.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the semi-truck accident happened around 2 a.m. in the parking lot of the Yesway gasoline station near Highway 6 and U.S. 281.

Reports say that a 22-year-old Utah man was driving a big rig that struck a traffic light pole and then crashed and burned in the parking lot of the gas station.

Officials say that the Utah man lost control of the vehicle, the truck rolled onto its right side, exploded and became engulfed in flames.

Authorities say that the driver escaped injuries, however the passenger suffered injury and was taken to Stephenville emergency room.

DPS is investigating the semi-truck accident.
