4 Dead in Fallbrook Multi-Vehicle Accident on State Route 76 near Horse Ranch Creek Road

FALLBROOK, CA (May 12, 2024) – Late Friday night, a fiery 3-vehicle crash on State Route 76 near Horse Ranch Creek Road killed 4 people.

The incident occurred at about 11:18 p.m. on State Route 76 near Horse Ranch Creek Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a silver Chrysler 300 traveling eastbound veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with a westbound Jeep Gladiator. The impact caused a third vehicle, a Toyota Camry also traveling west, to side-swipe the Jeep.

Officers revealed that four individuals lost their lives in the crash, including the drivers of the Jeep and Chrysler, as well as two adult passengers of the Jeep. They were pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Another adult passenger of the Jeep sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition remains unknown.

The deceased driver of the Jeep was identified as a 58-year-old man, while no information was provided about the other individuals who lost their lives. Additionally, there were no other reported injuries by CHP.

The investigation into the crash, including factors such as whether alcohol or drugs were involved, is ongoing. Authorities were present at the scene for approximately six hours to manage cleanup efforts. Road closures were in effect during this time but were lifted just after 5:30 a.m.
