Fiery 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 16 Kills 3 People [Zapata, TX]

Zapata, TX (August 25, 2024) On Friday afternoon, 3 people were killed, while 3 other people were hurt in a fiery 2-vehicle crash on Highway 16.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal crash happened at about 1 p.m. on the Zapata and Jim Hogg County Line.

Reports say that the collision invovled a car and a pickup truck.

Officials say that a passenger and a baby on the pickup truck were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. While the driver of teh other vehicle was transported to an undisclosed location.

Authorities pronounced 3 people dead. The Zapata County Sheriff’s Office is investigating teh fatal crash.
