Afternoon Crash on Highway 65 in Wheatland Kills 1 and Injures 3
WHEATLAND, CA (October 23, 2019) – A female teen was killed following a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon in Wheatland.
The crash happened around 3:13 p.m. on Highway 65 at Oakley Lane.
CHP officials said a 17-year-old girl of Plumas Lake was driving a Honda Civic on the roadway and was turning onto Highway 65 when she was hit by a 2017 Hyundai.
As a result, the teen driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The coroner’s office did not release her name pending family notification.
A 25-year-old man and two young boys, ages 3 and 8, who were occupants in the Hyundai, were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of this fatal crash. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors.
