WHITTIER, CA (June 18, 2021) – Tuesday night, a female pedestrian suffered injuries in a crash on Penn Street and Pickering Avenue.
 
The Whittier Police and paramedics came to the scene just after 5:15 p.m. The crash between a pickup truck and a pedestrian occurred on Westbound Penn Street and Pickering Avenue.
 
When the authorities arrived, they found a female down in the road after being hit by a red pickup truck. The authorities described the pedestrian as being high school-aged.
 
According to reports, as the truck turned left from Westbound Penn Street to southbound Pickering Avenue, the driver hit the juvenile. Apparently, the female pedestrian was walking across the south crosswalk when the incident happened.
 
The impact sent the female flying until the red pickup truck ran her over.
 
Thus, responders took the semi-conscious juvenile to a trauma center in unknown condition.
 
The crash led to the closure of the area. Meanwhile, the driver has been cooperative with the investigation.
