Campo Traffic Crash Kills 26-Year-Old Woman
Campo, CA (June 10, 2021) – On Wednesday, a 26-year-old female passenger died and 35-year-old male driver from Campo suffered injuries in Buckman Springs Road DUI crash.
The fatal crash took place at about 3:35 a.m., north of Lake Morena Drive.
Officers said the man was driving a 2004 Toyota Scion XA northbound on Buckman Springs Road when his vehicle swerved onto the east shoulder and hit a mailbox.
Afterwards, the driver drifted the other way and struck a tree on the west shoulder.
As a result, the vehicle rolled over ejecting the driver and the female front passenger.
Unfortunately, the woman lost her life at the scene.
On the other hand, emergency rescuers airlifted the driver to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment of major injuries.
Once medically cleared, the officers will arrest the driver on suspicion of felony DUI and manslaughter.
