Pierce County, WA (November 27, 2022) – On Saturday morning, a female passenger, 48, lost her life and the authorities arrested the driver, 43, in a 304th Street East DUI collision.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) received a report about a single-car crash in the 1200 block area in the Mountain Detachment.

When they arrived, the authorities discovered that the passenger had been ejected from the vehicle. The officers declared her dead at the scene.

They extricated the driver from the wreckage and rushed her to a nearby hospital with injuries.

Investigators say speed and driving while under the influence played a role in the collision in the Mountain Detachment. They say the car was westbound on 304th Street East when it lost control. Afterward, the vehicle went off the road and struck two trees before coming to a rest in a ditch.
