Woman Hospitalized after San Diego Moped Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 7, 2019) – A female moped rider suffered injuries after a collision with a vehicle on Meade Avenue on May 5.
The authorities are still looking for the woman who hit the two mope riders and escaped the scene just before 12:00 p.m.
According to reports, a 69-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman rode their moped east on Meade Avenue near 38th Street in Normal Heights. However, a woman traveling north through the intersection didn’t yield, SDPO Sarah Foster stated.
Reports also revealed that there is no stop sign at the intersection on Meade Avenue. However, 38th Street has it. Authorities described the vehicle as an older black Mercedes SUV.
Meanwhile, medics transported the injured female moped rider with a fractured femur. Moreover, information about the male rider’s condition remains unavailable.
The collision remains under investigation.
