1 Dead in Gilroy Bicycle Accident on Hale Avenue near Blossom Court
GILROY, CA (June 24, 2021) – Saturday morning, a 51-year-old female bicyclist died in a crash on Hale Avenue near Blossom Court.
The incident occurred at around 7:40 a.m. when a 26-year-old Morgan Hill man rode his Honda motorcycle. As he traveled south on Hale Avenue, he veered off the western edge of the road, onto the asphalt shoulder. Then, he hit the woman riding a Schwinn bicycle.
According to the CHP, the motorcyclist suffered no injuries. He stopped at the scene and reported the incident to 911. Moreover, some concerned citizens helped until emergency services came.
The authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
