Deadly Pedestrian Crash on Highway 9 in Felton
FELTON, CA (February 21, 2019) – A man was fatally struck by a vehicle late Thursday afternoon in unincorporated Santa Cruz County, CHP officials said.
The fatal incident happened around 5:00 p.m. on Highway 9 near Graham Hill Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian was walking on the highway when he was struck by a silver 2000 Toyota 4Runner that was traveling southbound.
The victim, only identified as a 22-year-old Ben Lomond man, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stayed and cooperated with authorities.
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. Further investigation of this incident is underway.
