BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 27, 2024) – Tuesday night, a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 155 near Sawmill Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 10:16 p.m. on Highway 155 near Sawmill Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound Toyota Prius veered across the double yellow lines for still unknown reasons and collided with a Chevrolet.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 44-year-old female driver of the Prius, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics airlifted the 34-year-old female driver of the Chevy to Kern Medical with severe injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
